I'm using it with an offcut of an old rope for personal attachement. Bowline through tie in points and a barrel knot as a stopper. Works quite well to take in slack. To give slack its a bit cumbersome as i have to unweight it, rotate 180 degreees and pull hard.
I have tried making the bowline a bit bigger and can put my belay device there for abseiling and also fit a prusik in my central loop. Works great and is less of a bother than clove hitching the belay device half way up the rope for every abseil.
Quite happy with it overall and it save a lot of money compared to other alternatives.
A possible consern is that it
can be complicated to tie (and very important that it is right)
adds an extra rope from the harness that might be confusing.
