Produktbeskrivning

The Crag Wagon from Mountain Hardwear is a tough, 60-litre climbing backpack made for climbing in alpine terrain. The convenient top and panel-loading functionality of the pack makes it incredibly easy to access your kit, no matter the situation. The pack was made using abrasion-resistant cotton and polyester canvas, while Kevlar was used for the bottom, making it not only durable and reliable but weatherproof as well. In addition to the panel-loading design, the pack also features a U-shaped zip, which makes accessing your kit even easier. Plus, the two loop handles make for easy handling. If you’re planning on filling the Crag Wagon to the brim, you’ll be happy to know that features stowable panel loader compression as well. This makes it so much easier to zip the bag shut when it’s full. The top-loading design makes it incredibly easy to access kit from above. Plus, there’s a drawcord and stopper at the top so that you can open or close the backpack quickly and easily. It also has two internal loops on the inside for attaching gear, such as carabiners and quickdraws. The lid provides a solid amount of weather protection as well. Other storage options include a large easy-access front pocket for important items as well as an extra pocket for guides and topos. This climbing backpack is built to make your crag life easier and more organised!

Comfortable but breaks down easily

I first left a 5/5 rating, but after using this bag for some time, my opinion has changed and I have updated my review.

I bought the crag wagon in july 2019, my view is based on opinions at the end of march 2020. Been using this bag to walk to and from crags in Gothenburg and Bohuslän (5-30 min walk).

Positives:
Comfortable and practical design.

Negatives:
Fragile.

I asked Mountain Hardwear support about the heavy wear after using this bag a rather short time, they refer to the seller Bergfreunde. Bergfreunde consider this normal wear and tear.

My experience is that the backpacks from Black Diamond, Decathlon and Norröna are much better quality.

My experience for comparison is the following:

Black Diamond touchstone haul 70L
Usage; 5+ years
State: Fully functional

Norröna trollveggen 40L;
Usage: 5+ years heavy use
State: Still fully functional, only some velcro has been torn off.

Simond (Decathlon) alpinism 33L
Usage: 4 years heavy use
State: After daily use for several years only some plastic details are lost. After long hikes with crampons and ice axe finally there were some small holes in it, but still functional.

Camp Rox 40L;
Usage: Less than a year, regular use
State: Fully functional

Mountain Hardwear CragWagon 60L;
Usage: Less than a year, weekend usage for about half a season
State: Looks like it's been in use for 10 years - signs of wear with some small holes, a piece supposedly made out of metal broken in two.

Conclusion as of now is that this item was either faulty or just not suitable for my use pattern. My experience is that it is too fragile,ä and not reliable enough.
