The Smarter Belay Package from Mammut contains everything you need for belaying while climbing and, thanks to the Smarter Add-On, is also particularly suitable for beginners when belaying. The set consists of the safety device Smart 2.0, the matching Smart HMS carabiner and the Smarter, which can optionally be attached to the safety device.

The Smart 2.0 is an intuitively operated belay device with reliable blocking of the climbing rope. In its version 2.0, the braking pressure has once again been significantly improved and the geometry optimised. The belay device works like an Auto-Tuber and is suitable for lead climbing, top rope climbing and also for abseiling. It is light, compact and sits comfortably in the hand with no moving parts.

Together with the Smart HMS carabiner, it forms the perfect unit for securing. Its easy-to-use screw lock is additionally locked with a safety gate and can only be operated when the gate is open. The Safety Gate also reliably protects against twisting of the carabiner and dangerous cross-loading.

The Smarter is a safety plus for beginners in terms of security technology. It can be attached to the Smart 2.0 and increases safety even in case of misuse by the belayer. For example, beginners quickly find that they do not always hold the brake rope down correctly when securing it. In the event of a fall, the Smarter intervenes if the brake rope is incorrectly held above the belay device and locks reliably. When correctly secured, normal rope handling is not impaired.
