The Master Pro Kit with the Clepsydra L Twin-Gate Carabiner from Grivel is an extremely versatile, reliable and user-friendly tool for belaying, lowering and rappelling. It consists of the tube-style Master Pro belay/rappel device and the Clepsydra L Twin-Gate Carabiner, which, because of its twin-gate locking system is considered the safest and easiest to use. You can rest assured that the rope will stay put. Whilst you usually need two hands to operate a screw-gate carabiner, you only need one for the Clepsydra L Twin Gate. Plus, these carabiners can't and won't open up accidentally, as screw-gate carabiners might. What's more, you won't have to worry about cross-loading, either, thanks to the wire isolating the belay loop. As was already mentioned, the Clepsydra is considered to be one of the safest carabiners out there and still works in icy and dirt-ridden conditions. Thus, it's a great carabiner to have in high-alpine terrain as well.

The combination of this with the tube-style Master Pro is perfect, because thanks to the V-shaped nose, there is additional friction, resulting in improved assisted braking.
