For kids who want to reach for the sky, there are the Kid’s Venga by Evolv.

When they go climbing, kids want to scamper up the walls, boulder like monkeys and they want “real climbing shoes” - wearing trainers or pumps for climbing is “dumb” because they don’t give a good grip on holds and prevent a fluid climbing motion - even grown-ups know that.

But what about when kids’ feet grow quickly and their bones and cartilage are still sensitive and shouldn’t be squashed too much?

The Kid’s Venga are fully fledged climbing shoes that have been specially adapted to the specific needs of children’s feet. They have no heel tension and the lasts follow the natural shape of the feet to avoid pressure during a long day at the wall or on rocks. Being motivated and enthusiastic, children usually forget to take off their shoes and run around in a way you don’t often see adults doing.

Evolv has given the Kid’s Venga a clever detail: the length of the shoes is easy to adjust by one whole size using the adjustment band on the heel. Another way to extend the lifespan and take the pressure off your wallet is to get your child to wear socks with the shoes on their smallest setting. When your kids only just fit into their Kid’s Venga without socks, then it’ll soon be time to buy some bigger shoes.

The Kid’s Venga have hook and loop fastener straps for easy put-ons and take-offs. The breathable mesh lining of the shoes helps the feet to slide in easily and has been given an antibacterial Agion treatment.

The 4.2 millimetre Trax soles give a tried and tested grip just like the “big” models. The Kid’s Venga have a synthetic leather upper to help them keep their great and comfortable fit.

The Kid’s Venga by Evolv look just like “big” shoes but have excellent child-friendly details - both for first attempts at a climbing wall and for advanced climbers on their way up.

Note: to help you find your size, Evolv has categorised the fit into three groups based on your objectives: Max Performance, Performance and Comfort.

• Max Performance: this is your street shoe size. This fit is designed for the best possible performance, perfect for pushing your limits. You will need to break in the shoes.
• Performance Fit: if you prefer a snug fit that is comfortable to wear from the start, add half a size to your street shoe.
• Comfort Fit: if you prefer a comfortable fit for multi-pitch climbing or if you're a beginner, then add 1 to 1.5 sizes to your street shoe.
